A band scheduled to perform at the highly anticipated Back to the Beginning reunion concert was dropped from the lineup due to a disagreement over profits, according to Sharon Osbourne.

“They wanted to make a profit,” Osbourne told Billboard, explaining the removal. “It’s not the time to make a profit.”

While Sharon didn’t name the group involved, she hinted that their identity may be revealed after the show. “I think people will be shocked,” she added.

This isn’t the first time Sharon has mentioned lineup changes. She previously described removing a band following a “huge to-do” with their manager, although it’s unclear if she’s referring to the same act.

Despite the absence, the Back to the Beginning reunion concert still boasts a historic roster. Fans will witness the original Black Sabbath lineup perform for the final time, along with Ozzy Osbourne’s last-ever live appearance. The event also features Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, and Anthrax.

Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, who is serving as musical director, promises an unforgettable experience.

“The goal from day one was very, very simple — to make it the greatest day, the most important day in the history of heavy metal music,” Morello said. “There’s never gonna be a dull moment. We’ve unearthed some incredible footage of things and people that no one’s ever seen, and a lot of surprises in a lot of other areas, too.”

The Back to the Beginning reunion concert takes place this Saturday in Black Sabbath’s hometown of Birmingham, England. The event will stream online, offering fans worldwide a chance to witness what’s being billed as a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of heavy metal.
