Nepali Jatra Festival of Colors returns to downtown Longmont on Saturday, July 19, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., bringing vibrant sights, sounds, and tastes from Nepal to the local community. Now in its fourth year, this free, family-friendly event celebrates Nepal’s diverse cultural heritage and has become a highlight of Longmont’s multicultural calendar.

Held near 350 Kimbark Street, the annual festival will feature a wide array of traditional Nepalese experiences, including authentic Nepali cuisine, live music, and captivating dance performances. Attendees of all ages can enjoy hands-on activities, including arts and crafts, storytelling based on Nepalese myths and legends, and a community color-splashing canvas.

A unique attraction this year is the inclusion of traditional rickshaw rides, offering visitors a glimpse of the bustling streets of Kathmandu.

The Nepali Jatra Festival of Colors is more than just a celebration — it’s a community-building event that fosters cultural exchange. It provides an opportunity for Longmont residents to engage with Nepalese traditions and for Colorado’s Nepalese community to share their heritage proudly.

The festival has steadily grown in popularity since its launch, drawing increasing numbers of visitors each year and building meaningful connections across cultures.
