Juan Alderete Reverb shop is set to launch on July 16, giving musicians and fans a rare opportunity to own gear used by the former Mars Volta bassist throughout his storied career.

Hosted on the online gear marketplace Reverb, Alderete’s shop will feature over 700 pieces of music equipment, including instruments, pedals, and amps. One of the standout items is the bass Alderete played on “The Bedlam in Goliath,” the 2008 studio album by The Mars Volta.

“All this gear should be in the hands of creative musicians who want to do what [the gear] is designed to do: make beautiful music,” Alderete said in a statement about the sale.

A longtime contributor to experimental and progressive rock, Alderete was a member of The Mars Volta from 2003 to 2012. His new Reverb shop marks a chance for fans, collectors, and working musicians to explore tools that were once part of his stage and studio arsenal.
