Tame Impala new album speculation is heating up after frontman Kevin Parker dropped a cryptic Instagram post suggesting fresh material is nearly complete. The Australian psych-rock project, led solely by Parker, hasn’t released a studio album since 2020’s The Slow Rush.
In his latest Instagram photo dump, Parker included a snapshot of a whiteboard with the word “done” written beside a list, much of which is cropped out of the frame. In the caption, he wrote, “Been busy,” prompting immediate buzz across social media.
Among the high-profile commenters were collaborators SZA and Dua Lipa, with SZA writing, “God I need this so bad rn.” The teasing aligns with Parker’s 2024 interview with The Guardian, where he hinted, “I’m loving how excited I am by it,” when discussing potential new Tame Impala music.
Since The Slow Rush, Parker has remained active in the music scene. Notably, he earned his first No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart through his collaboration with Justice on the single “Neverender.”
