Roger Daltrey Knighthood recognition highlights both his musical legacy and decades of charitable work. The Who frontman was honored as part of the King’s Birthday Honors list, receiving a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
Daltrey has been a longtime patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust, an organization to which he has dedicated years of fundraising and advocacy. Through his involvement, he has helped raise over $50 million in support of young people facing cancer.
Reflecting on the award, Daltrey called the knighthood a “wonderful honor,” adding that he accepted it “not only for myself but on behalf of all the unsung heroes who have given their energy towards making the Teenage Cancer Trust the success it has become.”
Daltrey was previously honored by the British royal family in 2004, also receiving a CBE for his contributions to music, entertainment, and charity.
He was recognized this year alongside other notable figures, including David Beckham and Steve Winwood.
