Frank Zappa – Zappa In New York

Media Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+)

Sleeve Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+)

Great live album

Notes:

There is an “uncensored” first pressing of this album which was released in 1977. This version is one of the “censored” pressings, released in 1978 after Warner Bros. ordered the removal of the track “Punky’s Whips”, originally appearing on side one. The song was replaced with “Big Leg Emma”.

This reissued edition has “Re-1” amended to ‘Side I’ and ‘Side II’ on the labels (and included in the runout data of side A and side B – indicating Warner contract to Columbia plants). No amendments to ‘Side III’ and ‘Side IV’.

“ABOUT THIS ALBUM…
In 1976 we played for a cozy group of 27.500 deranged fanatics in New York City (13.500 for three shows at the Felt Forum at Halloween, and 14.000 for four shows at the Palladium the week between Christmas and New Years). All of these sold out concerts were promoted by Ron Delsener (who we hereby thank), and attended by some of the nicest people we have had the experience of playing for (who we also hereby thank). New York last Christmas is what made this album possible.”

You know I went in thinking, “just maybe 1 or 2 albums….” This place is a gem! Came out the store with 10 albums. They have pretty much axed my list.

Friendly and great selection of music. Whenever I'm driving through Longmont... I try to make a stop at Recycled Records LP. :) Love this store
