Joe Trohman hand surgery has led the Fall Out Boy guitarist to step away from the band’s upcoming tour dates to prioritize his health.
“After years of managing ongoing issues with my right hand, it’s become clear that I need surgery to avoid permanent damage,” Trohman shared in an Instagram post. “Unfortunately, this means I’ll have to take the rest of the year off from playing with the band. The silver lining is that I’m on track for a full recovery.”
Despite his absence, Fall Out Boy will continue with all scheduled performances, including appearances at the Minnesota Yacht Club and Oceans Calling festivals, as well as international stops in Canada, Japan, and Brazil.
Trohman concluded his statement by expressing optimism: “I’m looking forward to recovering so I can get back out there with the guys.”
This marks the second time Trohman has stepped away from the band in recent months. In 2023, he temporarily left Fall Out Boy to focus on his mental health, only to rejoin the band later that year.
