Van Halen Balance Expanded Edition is set to arrive on August 15, marking the 30th anniversary of the band’s 10th studio album with a deluxe reissue packed full of rarities and live recordings for longtime fans.
Originally released in January 1995, Balance was the final studio album featuring frontman Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified triple Platinum by the RIAA.
The upcoming Balance (Expanded Edition) will be available as a two-LP, two-CD, and Blu-ray box set, featuring a remastered version of the original album, along with hard-to-find audio and video material. Highlights include the B-side “Crossing Over” and non-album tracks “Humans Being” and “Respect the Wind” from the Twister soundtrack.
The Blu-ray features restored promo videos for songs like “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You” and “Not Enough,” plus a previously unreleased live performance of “The Seventh Seal” filmed in Minneapolis in 1995.
Fans will also receive eight live tracks from Van Halen’s 1995 Wembley Stadium show, including a new digital release of “The Seventh Seal.”
In addition to the full box set, the Balance Expanded Edition will also be released as a standalone two-CD set featuring the remastered album and bonus rarities. A new vinyl edition will also mark the album’s first appearance on vinyl in 30 years.
