Chris Adler Lamb of God departure continues to be a sensitive topic, as the former drummer recently confirmed he is no longer in contact with his brother and ex-bandmate, guitarist Willie Adler.
“I guess the best way to put it is that I was sideswiped with the whole thing,” Chris told Blabbermouth.net regarding his unexpected exit from Lamb of God. “I wish [Willie] all the best; I’m wishing them all the best, and I think about him all the time, but I would say we are estranged.”
Chris also shared that communication between them stopped entirely after receiving a final email: “Since that e-mail that I got, where he was not even willing to talk to me about it, we haven’t spoken.”
The split followed a 2017 motorcycle accident that left Chris unable to tour in 2018. Lamb of God brought in Art Cruz to fill in on drums, and in 2019, officially announced Chris was no longer in the band. Several months later, Chris clarified that the decision to leave was not his.
Art Cruz has since become Lamb of God’s full-time drummer, contributing to their 2020 self-titled album and 2022’s Omens.
