Ween – Pure Guava (2022 August Records RUST 002 Unofficial 2LP, Orange-Black Marble)

The lo-fi, four-track-fueled major label bow that gave the world “Push th’ Little Daisies” — pressed to 2LP on orange-black marble by the August Records RUST series in 2022. An unofficial release of the 1992 Elektra album, spread across four sides for better groove width and a heavier low end than the original single-disc pressing allowed.
Pure Guava is Ween at their most unfiltered: tape hiss, pitched-down vocals, helium-drenched harmonies, and the kind of songwriting that moves from the slack-jawed sweetness of “Sarah” to the punishing closer “Poop Ship Destroyer” without blinking. Guest turns from Mean Ween, Guy Heller, Larry Curtin, and Scott Lowe are scattered throughout. Recorded at The Pod, mixed at Zion House of Flesh, mastered by Howie Weinberg at Masterdisk.
This copy comes with plain white inner sleeves, a double-sided insert (promo photo one side, press release sheet the other), and the original-style hype sticker. Matrix runouts read PURE GUAVA across all four sides. Orange-black marble is a one-time color for this bootleg run.
