Wibby Brewing in Longmont has become a standout destination in Colorado’s craft beer scene, specializing in German-style lagers that incorporate innovative American influences. Since opening in 2015, the brewery has earned acclaim for its dedication to quality, community, and creativity.
A Foundation in Lager
Wibby Brewing was co-founded by Ryan Wibby and Ted Risk, who transformed a former truck maintenance facility at the historic Butterball Turkey plant into a modern brewery and taproom. Ryan Wibby, a graduate of VLB Berlin, brought his expertise in traditional German brewing techniques, blending them with American craft approaches to create a distinctive lineup of lagers.
Award-Winning Beers
Wibby Brewing’s commitment to excellence was recognized at the 2023 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) when it was named Brewery of the Year in the 5,001–15,000 barrel category. Several of its beers have won major awards, including:
- Wibby Jibby – Contemporary American-Style Pilsener, gold medal at GABF 2023.
- Volksbier Vienna – American Amber Lager, GABF gold medal and a perfect 100-point score from Wine Enthusiast.
- Moondoor Dunkel – Munich-Style Dunkel, silver medal at GABF.
