The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Electric Ladyland

Media Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+)

Sleeve Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+)

Beautiful copy, Side A has a few marks. Does not affect play. 2 audiophile sleeves.

Notes:

Very early pressing, maybe the earliest because of the low digits in runouts.

Hendrix portrait on left-hand side when opening the gatefold cover. All other UK versions have Hendrix on the right-hand side.

Gatefold cover spread has ‘unwrapped/floating’ gloss laminate applied. Matt print areas left exposed at the two cut edges where the vinyls is inserted. Gatefold opens to view inner spread (glued to outer cover’s inside tabs as separate element). Gloss laminate exposing matt areas on all four edges. (Effectively, the sleeve is a flattened 2-piece cardboard tube).

Small sepia images of Redding & Mitchell to the right (Back cover behind them), with inside text below them. “Track Record” logo centered.
Printer`s name to the very end of the longest textline.

Matt texture ‘Version 1’ labels with additional inverted matrix number printed in parenthesis. Produced in auto-coupled sequence;
Disc 1: 613008 Side A; Cat# (613008 A) [inverted over 613008]
Disc 1: 613008 Side D; Cat# (613008 B) [inverted over 613008]
Disc 2: 613009 Side B; Cat# (613009 A) [inverted over 613009]
Disc 2: 613009 Side C; Cat# (613009 B) [inverted over 613009]

# in runouts denotes one digit or letter that is scratched out. Original digits or letters in matrix are stamped on this early issue. Corrections are etched (by hand).

Initial tracks recorded at Olympic Studios, London, January 1968. Completed at Record Plant Studios, Studio A, New York, June to August 1968.

Performers additional to the band and technical credits are added retrospectively and taken from the authorized Hendrix family trust releases on the Experience Hendrix label.

You know I went in thinking, “just maybe 1 or 2 albums….” This place is a gem! Came out the store with 10 albums. They have pretty much axed my list.
