Limited edition of 7,500 copies worldwide; not individually numbered. Discs are housed in jewel cases. CD 2 is known to have two matrix variants as documented in BaOI; all other aspects of “variant 2” are identical to “variant 1.”

Content Notes:
CD 1 – 2009 Stereo Mix:
Remixed from the original multitrack master tapes. Includes bonus tracks: an unedited full version of “Moonchild,” an alternate take featuring Robert and Ian only, an alternate take with different solos, and session extracts related to the introduction of “21st Century Schizoid Man.”

CD 2 – Original Master Edition 2004:
Original album mix, 24-bit remaster (September 2004). Bonus tracks include a Morgan Studios instrumental recording, a restored track from the first BBC session sourced from a bootleg, a BBC transcription disc version with improved sound quality, and de-clicked vinyl transfers of the original UK Island Records mono single split across two 7″ sides.

CD 3 – The Alternate Album:
Tracks 1–5 consist of alternate takes mixed for the first time from the original studio recordings. Tracks 6–10 are de-clicked vinyl transfers of the original stereo UK Island Records pink-label pressing, sourced from two LPs, including Robert Fripp’s personal archive copy.

CD 4 – Live 1969:
Tracks 1–7 are restored bootleg recordings from Hyde Park, London (July 5, 1969). Tracks 8–11 are restored bootleg recordings from Fillmore East, New York (November 1969).

CD 5 – Original Atlantic Records Issued U.S. Radio Promos:
De-clicked transfers from original vinyl sources. Tracks 1–5 feature the mono album mix used for radio promotion. Track 6 is an edited mono single mix issued for U.S. radio promotion only.

DVD Content:
Includes the original album remixed in MLP Lossless 5.1 Surround and DTS 5.1 Digital Surround, stereo album mixes and bonus material in high-resolution stereo formats, and video content with mono audio. DVD-Audio–specific content requires compatible players.

Alternate takes are mixed for the first time from the original studio recordings. Video content consists of a film edit of “21st Century Schizoid Man” from the Hyde Park concert on July 5, 1969, presented with original performance audio.

On the 2009 remix, Robert Fripp notes that the original mix served as the template, with the primary change being an edit to the “Moonchild” improvisation; the full version is included separately on this release.

All material is previously unreleased or previously unreleased in these versions, except for the original album mix (2004 master edition). Mono vinyl sources are credited to Online Vinyl Rarities (Bob Djukic), James Warner, John Kimber, and Robert Fripp, as applicable.

This release is presented in a 12″ × 12″ box with a booklet containing new sleeve notes, archival photos, a two-sided reprint of the original album sleeve, promotional photo reprints, and pins. This anniversary edition is also available in alternate CD and CD/DVD configurations.
