13th Floor Elevators – Live “S.F. 66” (Unofficial)

Media Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+)

Sleeve Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+)

A 1980 unofficial pressing of the 13th Floor Elevators’ legendary 1966 Avalon Ballroom set, captured live during the band’s run through San Francisco at the height of the acid-rock era. Roky Erickson and company tear through a setlist that mixes the group’s own psychedelic touchstones — “Splash 1,” “Fire Engine,” “Roller Coaster” — with raw covers of Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, the Kinks, and the Beatles. A key document of the Elevators in their element, sourced from the original Jefferson Holding recording at the Avalon.

Pressed once by Lysergic Record Co., never officially reissued. One copy in the bin, no restock.

You know I went in thinking, “just maybe 1 or 2 albums….” This place is a gem! Came out the store with 10 albums. They have pretty much axed my list.
