Jimmy Page Nymph amp is the new compact amplifier introduced by the legendary guitarist, offering the iconic tone of his original Sundragon amp in a smaller, neighbor-friendly format. Inspired by the unit used on Led Zeppelin’s 1969 debut, the Nymph preserves Page’s signature sound in a scaled-down design ideal for home use.

Guitar legend Jimmy Page, in collaboration with amp builder Mitch Colby and music producer Perry Margouleff, has launched the Sundragon Nymph, a smaller, lower-wattage version of his signature Sundragon amplifier. The Nymph is designed to deliver Page’s Facebook in a package suitable for home use, without sacrificing quality, according to Guitar World. This single eight-inch combo includes two 12AX7 tubes and features switchable 1-watt and ÂĽ-watt settings, making it ideal for quiet practice.

Key features and capabilities

  • Low wattage: The Nymph offers switchable power settings between 1 watt and ÂĽ watt, allowing for legendary tones at neighbor-friendly volume levels.
  • Direct post-speaker line output: This new feature enables players to connect the amplifier directly to a recording interface or P.A. system, making it suitable for both home practice and live performances.
  • Handles double-neck guitars: Despite its smaller size, the Nymph is capable of handling the demands of a double-neck guitar, such as Page’s iconic Gibson EDS-1275 SG Double-Neck, according to Gearnews.com.
  • Exceptional tone: Page himself praised the Nymph’s ability to reproduce the complex sounds of a 12-string guitar with surprising accuracy, describing the amplifier as “absolutely extraordinary.”

Page emphasized the meticulous effort taken to ensure the Nymph retained the tonal characteristics of the larger Sundragon amps while achieving a smaller footprint, stating that, “This would prove to be the greatest challenge Mitch and Perry had faced to date with Sundragon.”

The guitar icon first tested a prototype of the Nymph following his surprise performance at the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where he played the Link Wray instrumental “Rumble.”

“Despite the excitement and focus that comes with just having played, I was keen to try the amp out with my double-neck Gibson,” Page recalls. “I put it through its paces, searching for familiar tones with the 6-string neck, and smiled. Then came the ultimate test: would this amp be able to stand up to the challenge of reproducing the increased output of the 12-string guitar?”

“To my amazement, not only did it reproduce the 12-string sounds — it did so with flying colors,” he continues. “I just threw my hands up. I’ve got to tell you, that amplifier is absolutely extraordinary!”

The Jimmy Page Nymph amp is now available through SundragonAmps.com for players seeking to capture legendary tone with lower volume output.
